Despite a thunderstorm flooding roads the night before, the morning’s first stage remained mostly unaffected. Ogier pushed hard, opting to carry only one spare wheel in his GR Yaris to save weight, and claimed the stage win, earning early points for Sunday.
Thierry Neuville expressed challenges with grip on the narrow roads, while Sordo struggled with his pace, falling behind. Ott Tänak also faced engine issues but managed to place third in the stage.
The conditions changed significantly in stage 14 due to the previous night’s storm, turning the road into muddy sections. Neuville described the stage as “destroyed,” leading him to adopt a cautious approach, while Ogier capitalized on the situation, extending his lead.
As the rally progressed, Ogier maintained a strong position, while drama unfolded in the WRC2 class with Georg Linnamae rolling his car but continuing. Sami Pajari remained in the lead of the WRC2 class.
