GOOD NEWS: Wide receiver who is ranked #1 has committed to the Gamecocks.

Another significant step forward for South Carolina’s recruitment endeavors in 2025.
Malik Clark, a projected wide receiver for South Carolina, broke his commitment to Florida State on Tuesday.

In July, the Rock Hill (S.C.) High School four-star player chose the Seminoles over North Carolina and South Carolina. He was in Columbia for the Akron game two weeks ago, and he’s coming back this weekend for Ole Miss.

Clark is the class of 2025’s No. 24-ranked wide receiver, per 247Sports. Regardless of position, he is the third-best prospect overall in the state of South Carolina. He ranks No. 212 overall in the country.

247Sports national college football recruiting analyst reported that South Carolina is in the mix with a handful of other schools, including North Carolina, UCF, Colorado and Texas A&M.

Through five games as a senior, Clark has caught 31 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns.

Perimeter playmaker with the speed to find the end zone. Not the most complete product at this stage, but has the clay to emerge as a true difference-maker on Saturdays with his long limbs and top gear. Measured just over 6-foot-2, 180 pounds in advance of senior season and posted some of the top testing numbers on the entire Under Armour Next camp circuit: 4.39 in the 40-yard dash to go along with a 4.31 effort in the short shuttle and a 122.5-inch broad jump. At his best when he’s attacking the deeper parts of the field as he streaks down the sideline and keeps defenders on their heels.

Will use creative cuts to gain separation, but his footwork might use some improvement. Once the football is airborne, they find it quickly and gear up or down to win the prize. On the highlight reel, there aren’t many contested catches, though. Having extra muscle might benefit him as a blocker in addition to making him more successful in 50/50 situations. All things considered, he has a chance to be a multi-year Power Four impact player with real NFL potential. One of the greatest in the 2025 cycle when it comes to challenge coverages at both the second and third levels; he will probably require some time to get used to his surroundings.
