Born in Farmington, Minnesota, Helleson played for the Gulls for the whole 2023–24 season, tallying four goals and dishing out fourteen assists for a total of eighteen points in 59 appearances. In his three NHL games of service, he has dressed and scored his first goal.
The Columbus Blue Jackets selected Meyer in the sixth round of the 2017 NHL Draft, and he played for both the Jackets and the Cleveland Monsters in the previous campaign. In the 14 regular season games with the Blue Jackets, he scored two points.
