NEWS NOW: Ducks welcome their long awaited player just now.

Tonight, the Colorado Avalanche will host the Anaheim Ducks in Denver as they continue to aim for the elusive season-opening victory. This will complete Colorado’s current homestand and be the first of three meetings between these two teams this season.

The Colorado Avalanche
Going into this game, Colorado’s tale is mostly unchanged. They’re still trying to get their first victory of the year. It seems like they haven’t been able to bring everything together in a single game yet, even if there have been a few distinct elements to identify and perhaps enjoy about each game. That would be a fantastic place to start if they can accomplish that against the Ducks here tonight.

On a more positive note, it seems like there won’t be another name joining the already extensive list of injuries that Colorado has after all. Miles Wood was shaken up on a hit from Elias Lindholm last game against the Boston Bruins. At the time, I think it’s pretty fair to say that a lot of people, myself included, automatically assumed that he’d miss some time because it looked bad in the moment. However, his injury isn’t believed to be serious, and there’s even a possibility he’ll play tonight, which is a huge relief.
