The Colorado Buffaloes and head coach Deion Sanders are coming off an impressive season after improving to 9-4 after going just 4-8 last year.
Much of this success comes from the impressive talent that Sanders has been able to secure due to his ability to recruit at a high level.
Colorado’s 2025 recruiting class looks no different after securing commitments from one five-star player, eight four-stars and five three-stars.
One player who could have an impact early on in his career is four-star wide receiver Quentin Gibson, who just received a prestigious high school football award after being named the MaxPreps National Player of the Year.
When looking at his numbers from the year, it’s no surprise why Gibson was given the honor because, in 2024, he accumulated 93 receptions, 2,009 yards, and 36 touchdowns.
His team, the North Crowley Panthers, also won the Texas 6A state championship, with Gibson being named the MVP after having seven receptions, 181 yards and three total touchdowns.
Gibson now joins a prestigious list of players to win the award, which includes several current NFL players, such as running back Derrick Henry (2012), quarterback Kyler Murray (2013 and 2014) and quarterback Bryce Young (2019).
