Dan Moore Jr., an offensive tackle with the Pittsburgh Steelers, is anticipated to fetch a high price on the open market. After Ronnie Stanley and Alaric Jackson rejoined the Ravens and Rams, the free-agent tackle who is unlikely to rejoin the Steelers is currently at the top of the free-agent list. Moore and Cam Robinson, the other top tackle available, might get contracts worth up to $15 million a season, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer. Although there is a high need for offensive tackles, players like Moore and Robinson will likely be compensated due to the league’s poor draft class and lack of available positions.
Moore was a four-year starter for the Steelers. Drafted out of Texas A&M in the 2021 NFL Draft, Moore started 66 games for the Steelers since coming into the league, developing into the player he is now.
He played his best football in the first half of the 2024 season, but finished the year allowing a league-high 12 sacks after a tough stretch in the back half of the year.
With investment in Broderick Jones and Troy Fautanu, it is time for the young players to take over that role in the Steelers’ offense. Moore should still get a nice penny in free agency and find another team willing to make him a starter. That could even be a team like the Kansas City Chiefs, who have been floated as a destination for him.
