TOP ONE: Usain Bolt broke the record held by four-time Olympic winner Michael Johnson, silencing him.

American sprinting great Michael Johnson has shared the humiliating moment when Usain Bolt disproved him in the racket. Johnson, who broke the 200-meter world record in 1996 at the Olympic Games in Atlanta with a time of 19.32 seconds, once stated that he anticipated Bolt breaking his own record.

Four-time Olympic champion Johnson, however, stated before the 2008 Games that he didn’t think the Jamaican would beat his 12-year-old 200-meter record.

Eager to make his debut on the biggest stage, Bolt broke Michael Johnson’s record by running a 200-meter timing of 19.19 seconds and defeated a packed competition. Johnson, an eight-time world champion, recalled the incident in an interview with talkSPORT. “There is no question that he will succeed and shatter the 200-meter world record. This year, that simply won’t happen. It’s possible whenever he’s on the track, I responded, but I didn’t think he would.
