Taylor Swift’s August concerts at Wembley Stadium will take place right before a free outdoor event in Wembley Park that include some of her best-known songs.
“Taylor on Strings” will take place on Tuesday, August 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the Samovar Space of The Sound Shell in Wembley Park. A powerful string quartet called the City String Ensemble will play their creative takes on more than a dozen Taylor Swift songs.
Popular songs like “Love Story,” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” and “Shake It Off” will be performed at the event. Due to limited space, tickets are free but must be reserved online in advance.
“We are thrilled to perform our distinctive renditions of Taylor Swift’s songs at Wembley Park,” stated City String Ensemble founder and violinist Sophie Poteratchi.
Swifties will get the chance to enjoy Taylor’s music in a more personal environment with our distinctive approach of using string instruments to bring each song to life during this show.
The Guildhall School of Music and Drama produced the London-based City String Ensemble, which is renowned for its avant-garde arrangements of both classical and contemporary music.
Since 2020, the group has put out multiple albums and has performed music from a variety of genres, such as anime and modern pop soundtracks.
Since its addition to Olympic Way in 2022, the Sound Shell stage has played host to a range of events, including gospel choirs and Pride festivities.
“The Sound Shell has provided a stunning venue for a wide range of incredible performances in recent years,” said Claudio Giambrone, Wembley Park’s event curator. Presenting “Taylor on Strings” from the exceptional City String Ensemble gives us great pleasure.
“It’s the ideal complement to the buzz of anticipation that has descended upon Wembley Park ahead of Taylor Swift’s five additional performances here later this month.”
In celebration of Swift’s concerts, Wembley Park has introduced new cultural attractions, including the “Swiftie Steps” artwork by Frank Styles and the MurWalls X Humor mural.
