Roadkill Nights this Saturday, August 10, is Driven by Dodge, we’re transforming Pontiac, Michigan’s M1 Concourse with street-legal drag racing and Dodge exhilarating rides. That’s correct, the Direct Connection Grudge Racers and the Roadkill heads-up racers will be battling for bragging rights and more than $30,000 in prize money at the inaugural drag racing tournament held on the grounds of M1 Concourse. The drag races are held on the track of M1 Concourse, which provides spectators with excellent vantage points and access to the drag pits.
In addition to being a drag competition, Roadkill Nights is a celebration of all that MotorTrend’s popular television series stands for. You can also see co-hosts David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan record an episode live and on site! They have acquired a pick-up vehicle that is crusty and rusted, which they plan to modify in a manner akin to Roadkill. Come meet NHRA icons Matt Hagan and Ida Zetterström in a special autograph session and watch them put on displays with their 11,000 horsepower Funny Car and Top Fuel racecars, as if that weren’t enough. The next weekend, Zetterström will make her NHRA professional debut. She will also make her JCM Racing Top Fuel debut during Roadkill Nights.
With a Dodge Charger Funny Car that can reach speeds of over 330 mph, Hagan is a four-time Funny Car champion and might be regarded as the leader of the muscle car community. Celebrity Bill Goldberg from TV and movies is also getting involved.
With an extensive demonstration featuring their newest models and fan favorites like the 1,025-hp 2024 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 and Demon driving simulators, Dodge will be there in full force on the property. Additionally, the 2018 Dodge Charger Daytona will make its global debut, giving enthusiasts a chance to view Dodge’s next generation of muscle cars. In addition, a busload of professional drivers and a couple tractor-trailers loaded with fast cars and CUVs will be arriving from our Dodge friends to let spectators take rides in a variety of Dodge automobiles. Dodge Chargers and Challengers will be lighting up on the M1 Concourse skidpad, providing fans with a drifting fan experience. Across the yard, a unique Hornet high performance circuit will be in action.
Additionally, MotorTrend has planned a sold-out Show N’ Shine car show with a vendor in the middle that features the parts and components to make your car faster and faster. Bring the whole family; there will be enough food vendors to fill their bellies, and there will be nonstop action to keep them occupied.
