Hannah Coor injury update: OU softball OF remains out but nearing return for Sooners
After suffering an apparent ankle injury on opening day, OU softball outfielder Hannah Coor is nearing a return.
“I think she’s going to get out of the boot this week and doing rehab at least twice a day,” Sooners coach Patty Gasso said. “So she’s not too far. She’s definitely going to be back in commission.”
Coor was 2 for 4 with an RBI on the season’s first day, going 2 for 4 before suffering the injury on second base in OU’s second game of the day at San Diego State.
Coor has struggled with injuries during her career at OU, most notably with a back injury that limited her to four appearances in 2023.
With Coor out, Ella Parker has seen more time in the outfield.
The Sooners (10-0) open their home slate Saturday against Abilene Christian at noon at Love’s Field before playing Bowling Green in the second game of a doubleheader.
The Lakers couldn’t miss. And then they couldn’t make anything.
Eleven times in a row they got a mismatch they liked and found themselves in spots on the court they wanted, only to see their shots fail.
The first-quarter famine meant the Lakers had to play from behind, only briefly getting within striking distance of the lead before losing 123-116 on Thursday night at Crypto.com Arena.
Things got better in the second half, but the hole was too big and the momentum too fleeting.
It wasn’t for lack of fight — the Lakers have had plenty all season. They got within five points in the final five minutes and within five in the final 60 seconds, but never within a single possession.
