A prominent Texas official recently promised to restock his position and also…..
Arizona selected the Longhorns as a finalist for the offensive lineman position.
After many players graduated to the NFL this summer, Kyle Flood, the offensive line coach for the Texas Longhorns, is searching around to restock his position room. The Longhorns were named a finalist on Wednesday for an offensive lineman from the state of Arizona, and they are probably taking a lot of offensive linemen this cycle.
Phoenix, Arizona Aaron Thomas, a three-star offensive lineman from Mountain Pointe, said that the Longhorns are one of five finalists he has reduced down his recruiting.
Along with Texas, Florida State, Ohio State, Texas A&M, and Washington rounded out Thomas’ top five. Along with solidifying his top five, Thomas also announced that he has locked in official visits to all of the programs that made the cut for him. Thomas will make his way to Austin to see the Longhorns on June 13th before heading to Texas A&M the following weekend.
Flood offered Thomas earlier this month as assistants have hit the road recruiting.
I’m interested to see where Thomas fits into the staff’s overall big board at tackle, since the Longhorns place a high value on players like John Turntine and Felix Ojo. History has shown us that Flood and Steve Sarkisian enjoy loading up on quality in the trenches, and they undoubtedly have a lot of lines in the water. With so many seats to fill, I’m interested to see how this portion of the recruiting class turns out.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, the 6’7, 300-pound athlete is regarded as the 48th best offensive lineman and the 589th best player in the country.
