The city of Oklahoma City The 2025 NCAA Women’s College World Series luncheon in Oklahoma City on Tuesday night honoured Korbe Otis as the NCAA Division I Softball’s Elite 90 winner. With a 4.0 GPA in biology, Otis, who was named the 2025 Southeastern Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year, graduated earlier this month.She intends to enrol in medical school in order to work with athletes as an orthopaedic or cardiothoracic surgeon. She was selected sixth overall in the 2025 Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) draft on May 3.Along with Bennett Andersen (men’s basketball) in 2025, Alex McMurtry (gymnastics) and Josie Kuhlman (women’s tennis) in 2017, and Emily Lortz (lacrosse) in 2024, Otis is the first Florida softball player and the fifth Gator in all sports to receive the Elite 90 honour. In 2024–25, Florida and Denver will be the only two Division I programmes to have multiple Elite 90 honorees.The Elite 90 award recognises student-athletes for their outstanding accomplishments. This esteemed award is bestowed to individuals who have not only attained the greatest academic standards among their peers but also performed at the national championship level in chosen sport. For each of the 90 NCAA titles, the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the finals site is proudly given the Elite 90 award.Students who have played a sport with their school for at least two years and are sophomores or above are eligible to be student-athletes. The quantity of credits earned breaks all ties.
