The Richland County Sheriff’s Department reports that a man was murdered in a shooting at a Columbia apartment complex on Saturday. The sheriff’s department informed The State on Sunday that deputies were called to a gunshot in the 1000 block of Southern Drive at around 6 a.m. In the vicinity of the University of South Carolina campus, the Redpoint Columbia apartments are marketed to students. Approximately two miles from Williams-Brice Stadium, the apartment complex is located between Shop Road and Bluff Road.
According to the sheriff’s department, deputies discovered an adult inside an apartment complex who had been shot many times. The guy passed away at the site, according to the sheriff’s department, despite the efforts of officers and emergency personnel to save his life when EMS was summoned. The victim has not been made public by the Richland County Coroner’s Office, which was also summoned to the apartment complex. There were no other recorded injuries.
