BREAKING NEWS: Mariners’ Cal Raleigh reacts to catching GOAT’s ‘attention’

The 28-year-old would respond after this renowned catcher gave Mariners star Cal Raleigh some love.

Another baseball legend has expressed admiration for the work of Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh, who is widely regarded as the finest player at his position in the game. Legendary player Johnny Bench would talk about the 28-year-old and the things he loves about his style, given that the Mariners catcher in Raleigh has 26 home runs, which matches him for first place in the league with Aaron Judge.

Along with the 26 home runs, which leads any catcher in the majors, he also has a .263 batting average and 54 RBIs (seventh in the MLB). Speaking with USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, former Cincinnati Reds catcher Johnny Bench, who many consider to be the greatest catcher of all time, would say he loves to watch Raleigh play, even saying a player like him doesn’t come along very often.

“I promise I’m listening carefully,” Bench said. “I love watching him throw, and unlike some guys you see, he’s not afraid to throw, and I love watching him call a game. I love watching him hit, seeing him go the other way while trying to get guys in from second and third.” He is so amazing at whatever he does, and I adore seeing him drive in runs.

“In the history of the game, guys like him have probably appeared 14 or 15 times,” Bench said.
