Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong held up a plastic Donald Trump mask with the word “idiot” inscribed on the forehead at a gig in Washington, D.C. this week, sending MAGA supporters into a frenzy on social media.
On X Thursday, a photo of Armstrong wearing a smirking Trump mask went viral, with the hashtag “severed Trump” trending.
“They decided it was a good idea to display a decapitated Trump skull. “Just TWO WEEKS after he was sh*t in the head,” online celebrity Nick Sortor captioned the photo of Armstrong. “These people are SICK.”
The message was reposted thousands of times, adding to the indignation among Trump supporters.

“If a Republican did that with a severed Biden or Harris head – early morning FBI raid, shackles and prison time,” tweeted #Gracelyn72.
The outrage was met with an equal amount of mockery, with many describing reactions to the photo as too theatrical.
