All-star games will feature a strong representation of South Carolina’s football program’s star-studded 2024 class, and more transfers may be on the horizon.

Let’s look at the all-star games these future Gamecocks are participating in, the class rankings, and the transfers who are supposedly interested in Shane Beamer’s program now that the South Carolina Gamecocks’ 2024 recruiting cycle is almost complete and the transfer portal cycle is still open for a few days. Let’s begin with the forthcoming all-star games for high school

Under Armour All-American Game

On January 3rd, South Carolina fans will witness several future players in action, being tied for first with Georgia and Texas for the most commits involved—each boasting seven. Notable Carolina alum in this game include EDGE Jadeveon Clowney, CB Stephon Gilmore, WR Alshon Jeffery, OG A.J. Cann, DT Zacch Pickens, and EDGE Jordan Burch. Here are the future Gamecocks participating in the game:

The Adidas All-American Football Game
With two commits, OT Josiah Thompson and LB Fred Johnson of the Gamecocks were tied for third place in the game’s commit count. RB Marcus Lattimore, DT Kelcy Quarles, QB Spencer Rattler, WR Bryan Edwards, and CB Cam Smith are notable former Gamecocks who will be participating in this game.

U.S. Army All-American Bowl

The Gamecocks have one player in this game: four-star tight end and Under Armour All-American Michael Smith.

Recruiting Service Rankings

Pulling rankings from On3, 247Sports, Rivals, and ESPN, the Gamecocks have secured 2 5-stars, 11 4-stars, and 4 3-stars, with nine players in the ESPN Top 300. The Gamecocks faced tough competition even after several players committed. Notably, QB Dante Reno resisted offers from Miami and North Carolina, while OT Josiah Thompson remained loyal despite Clemson’s attempts. EDGE Dylan Stewart rejected pursuits from Miami, Ohio State, and Georgia, affirming his commitment to South Carolina.
