Quiñonez is the third current commit from UConn in the Class of 2025, joining Kelis Fisher (who is presently ranked No. 28 in the class according to ESPN’s recruit rankings) and Gandy Malou-Mamel (No. 72).
Quiñonez is presently participating in the Italy Serie A1 as an international player.
In September, Geno Auriemma and assistant coach Morgan Valley were spotted in Quiñonez, Italy. She took part in the all-female Basketball Without Boarders camp held by the NBA and WNBA in Phoenix earlier this summer during the WNBA All-Star weekend in July.
Last season, Quiñonez played for Campobasso, also in Italy, where she averaged 10.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.1 steals, according to FlashscoreUSA.com
The future Husky played for Ecuador’s senior national team in the 2022 South American Women’s Championship, averaging 10.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in two games.
Quiñonez will join a 2025-26 Husky roster that will also include an international presence from Ireland (Malou-Mamel) and Egypt (Jana El Alfy).
