SO SAD: At the WTA Wuhan Open, 14 players withdrawn which Aryna Sabalenka said is……

The Wuhan Open will host the 2024 WTA 1000 championship match. There are a lot of interesting stories surrounding the tournament, such the rivalry between Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek for the top spot and the efforts of players like Emma Navarro to make it to the WTA Finals at the end of the year. Regretfully, a number of well-known competitors have also pulled out of the competition. These players are listed in this article along with the draw’s substitutes.

Which Players Have Withdrawn From The Wuhan Open Out of 14 Players?
The most well-known player to withdraw from the Wuhan Open was Iga Swiatek. After three years together, the Pole declared her separation from her longtime coach, Tomasz Wistorowski. Swiatek therefore requires some time to select and begin working with a new coach. Due to the French Open champion’s decision to withdraw, Sabalenka will pass her as the top seed in the world during the year’s last WTA 1000 event, provided she makes it to the quarterfinals.

Another player to pull out of the Wuhan Open was Elena Rybakina. She claimed that she was unable to compete in China due to a back problem. Some worry that the former Wimbledon champion’s decision may have been influenced by her abrupt breakup with Stefano Vukov, who has allegedly been barred from the WTA Tour.

Danielle Collins’ withdrawal hurt her chances of making it to the WTA Finals. Emma Navarro and Qinwen Zheng are vying with the American for the last qualifying berth. Sadly, after suffering a sudden illness, the runner-up in the 2022 Australian Open has seen her chances diminished.

Another well-known female participant to pull out of the Wuhan Open is Ons Jabeur. Due to a shoulder issue that had plagued her the entire season, the Tunisian had to terminate her career early. She believes that putting the issue to rest will enable her to be ready for the start of 2025.

Marketa Vondrousova, Elina Svitolina, Victoria Azarenka, Caroline Garcia, Linda Noskova, Jelena Ostapenko, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Karolina Pliskova, Maria Sakkari, and Lulu were the other players who pulled out.
