LIKE SERIOUS IS COMING TO PASS: Nick Mason Imagines Pink Floyd Composing New Music Using AI
Nick Mason recently talked about the prospect of creating new Pink Floyd songs with AI assistance.
Mason revealed that he plans to use AI to avoid the long-running conflict between Roger Waters and David Gilmour in order to release new Pink Floyd music.
The drummer acknowledged there is little prospect of a reunion between the band’s surviving members in a recent interview with The Daily Mirror, but he did show interest in employing artificial intelligence.
“Watching what AI could create with fresh music would be interesting. Should you attempt to use it as a kind of “Where did Pink Floyd go after?” stated Mason. “The best course of action would be to create an AI scenario in which David and Roger reconcile. By the time we’re through, we might resemble ABBA.”
The band’s most popular configuration came to an end in 1985 when Waters left the group, attempting to stop his friends from continuing on without him. There has never been a true resolution to the falling out between Waters and Gilmour.
