SO SAD: Pittsburgh Steelers are in tears over a key player who died in plane crash

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ flight home after their victory over the Raiders in Las Vegas made an emergency landing in Kansas City early on Monday morning.

The team’s spokesperson, Burt Lauten, stated that “everyone on the plane is safe and we are making necessary plans to arrive back in Pittsburgh later today” in a message on X, the former name of Twitter.
The team jet, carrying two journalists, landed in Kansas City just before 4 a.m. local time, according to KDKA TV. The aircraft was experiencing an oil pressure issue in one of its engines, according to the station.

On X, veteran defensive tackle Cam Heyward of Pittsburgh made light of the fact that the squad needed a transportation to Pittsburgh while joking with pop sensation Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Swift was invited by Kelce to Kansas City’s resounding victory against Chicago on Sunday.

Head coach Mike Tomlin gave the Steelers a Monday off following their 23–18 victory over the Raiders. This coming Sunday, they travel to the Houston Texans for their next game.
