Breaking: Netflix has Release Documentary on 2025 No. 1 overall prospect Aaliyah Chavez had announce commitment to Kim Caldwell lady Vols

As of March 3, 2025, there is no official announcement regarding Aaliyah Chavez’s commitment to the Tennessee Lady Volunteers. Chavez, the nation’s top women’s basketball recruit for the class of 2025, has scheduled her college decision announcement for March 25, 2025.

Chavez, a standout 5-foot-9 point guard from Monterey High School in Lubbock, Texas, has narrowed her list of potential colleges to six programs: LSU, Texas, South Carolina, UCLA, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma.

Notably, Tennessee is not among her final choices.

Under the leadership of head coach Kim Caldwell, the Tennessee Lady Volunteers have secured commitments from other top recruits, including five-star prospect Deniya Prawl.

Prawl, a 6-foot-1 small forward from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, chose Tennessee over Baylor and Notre Dame.

As the anticipation builds for Chavez’s decision later this month, the women’s college basketball community awaits to see which program will benefit from her exceptional talents.

Mya and Mia Pauldo announced their commitment to Tennessee last week, marking the first high school commitments for Caldwell since she was hired in April. Caldwell also brought in five transfers for the 2024-25 season.

The Pauldo twins are 5-foot-5 point guards who play at Morris Catholic High School in New Jersey. Mia is a five-star ranked No. 13 in the 2025 class and Mya is a four-star prospect ranked No. 49. As top players start to announce their college destination, here’s a look at the Lady Vols’ scholarships and what that means for the 2025 class.
