It seems that Animals and The Wall by Pink Floyd is inferior to Luck and Strange.

David Gilmour, the guitarist for Pink Floyd, has stated that he is quite confident in his impending solo return album, Luck and Strange, calling it the best work he has done since The Dark Side of the Moon was released fifty years ago.

“The Dark Side of the Moon was released more than 50 years ago,” Gilmour stated in a recent interview with Prog magazine (via Guitar World). “I think this is the best record I’ve made since The Dark Side of the Moon came out in 1973,” the artist said.

That’s no little statement, given that Pink Floyd went on to deliver more classics, including Animals in 1977 and The Wall in 1979. Maybe Gilmour’s memories of the albums have been clouded by his ongoing issues with former bandmate Roger Waters.
In addition, Gilmour has released a number of well-received solo albums, such as On an Island and Rattle That Lock, which peaked at number one on the UK charts in 2006 and 2015, respectively.

The tracks “Between Two Points” and “The Piper’s Call” are taken from Luck and Strange, Gilmour’s first album in almost ten years, which will be released on September 6. Get a copy of The Dark Side of the Moon (50th Anniversary Remaster) from last year to compare, and pre-order it now.
