SO SAD: A car accident recently claimed the life of an AC/DC singer.

Axl Rose, the leader of Guns N’ Roses, went on stage with his friend Billy Joel on Thursday night (July 25) for his final Madison Square Garden performance in New York City.

Presented as “The Last Night of the Record-Breaking Residency,” Billy Joel performed at the renowned New York venue for the 150th time in ten years.

After performing alongside Billy Joel on stage once before, Axl Rose entered the stage thirteen songs into his three-hour show while sporting a glittering outfit and shades.

Axl gave Billy a hug before belting out a version of Wings’ “Live and Let Die,” which Guns N’ Roses is well known for having covered.

After that, the two sang AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell,” then Axl went back to The Garden stage to play Billy’s 1980 hit song “You May Be Right,” which was the last song performed during the residency concert.

Billy and Axl Rose had previously performed “Highway To Hell” during a 2017 Dodger Stadium event in Los Angeles.

Billy Joel stated the following when his final Madison Square Garden performance was first revealed: “I said I’d play one show a month ‘as long as the demand continues’ when this franchise run at Madison Square Garden began in January 2014.”

“Ten years later, I never thought I’d still be doing one show a month.” It’s a tribute to my incredible supporters and the 1.6 million global participants in this historic residency thus far.

“It feels appropriate to wrap up this journey with my 150th lifetime show at the Garden now, ten incredible years later.”
Billy Joel has been a resident artist for more than ten years, but he has been doing concerts at Madison Square Garden since the late 1970s.

After completing his stay, Billy will play his one and only gig in the UK in a few weeks. The vocalist will take the stage in Cardiff on Friday, August 9, 2024.
