Usain Bolt, the legendary sprinter, has teased a potential return to the track for an All-Star event with other retired athletes. However, he has ruled out competing in the 400m race, having previously expressed his dislike for the event.
Bolt is widely regarded as the greatest sprinter of all time, boasting eight Olympic gold medals and holding world records in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m events. Despite retiring after the 2017 World Championships, Bolt’s competitive spirit remains undimmed. In his last competition, Bolt finished third in the 100m, withdrew from the 200m, and suffered an injury in the 4x100m relay final. Justin Gatlin, the retired American sprinter, won gold in Bolt’s final 100m dash.
Since then, Bolt has acknowledged that he would not face Gatlin in any All-Star competition. Bolt was questioned about a potential return on the ‘Ready Set Go’ podcast, which is co-hosted by Gatlin and former athlete Rodney Green.
“I’m ready, just for the fun of it. I’m ready, let’s go. It’ll be fun,” he responded. When questioned about a potential rematch with Gatlin, Bolt dismissed the idea, saying: “Nah man, Justin, him? He’s in too good of a shape. Bro I see him doing starts all the time. I asked him, I text him, ‘Bro, why are you in such good shape?'”
