The Cleveland Cavaliers’ early NBA playoff departure marked yet another sad finale to their season.
Still, there were a lot of good things to learn from the entire season. One of those upsides is Evan Mobley’s huge climb from high-end starting forward to All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year.
Despite Mobley’s progress in 2024–25, a well-known NBA expert and insider has a serious doubt regarding his future in the league.
Even though Brian Windhorst is aware that Mobley is already among the NBA’s top players, he wants to know if he has what it takes to become an MVP.
“When you’re going to year-five, you’ve got an All-NBA-Defensive Player of the Year-All-Star who led the team to 60 victories. Jackpot, people. “That’s the jackpot,” Windhorst declared. Given that he is now in the top 1% of players, the question now is if he can also be in the top 5%.
The Cavares are doing well when they bet on Evan Mobley, but that is the question and where the work becomes really difficult.
