Ahmedabad: Vishwashkumar Ramesh, the only survivor of Thursday’s horrific Air India airline disaster in Ahmedabad, which lost 241 lives, remembers the final moments of terror.
A survivor of the Air India plane crash describes the terrifying events that transpired in a few seconds.
“The side where I was sitting wasn’t on the hostel side; it was the ground floor of the hostel,” explained Vishwashkumar, a 40-year-old British national presently recuperating from the terrible event while receiving treatment at Ahmedabad’s civic hospital.
I’m not sure about others, but there was some room where I was seated in that section, which was on the ground floor. I noticed that there was considerable room when my door shattered, so I tried to get out and succeeded. Since the plane had landed entirely on the opposite side of a building wall, it seems likely that no one was able to escape from that side. Only where I was there was room. I’m not sure how I made it through. My left hand was burned when the fire started. I was then admitted to the hospital. I’m getting good treatment from everyone here. Here, people are really pleasant.
