The news of the 30-year-old Rory Burke’s demise, a former Munster Rugby and Ireland Under-20 star, has caused much anguish in recent days.
In 2013, the late Rory Burke enrolled in the Munster Academy. Burke played club rugby with Cork Constitution and school rugby with CBC Cork.
He made his senior debut against Grenoble at Thomond Park in August 2015, and he was a highly popular member of the team before being included in the squad that won the British & Irish Cup in 2017. That year, he won the All-Ireland League championship with Cork Con.
In April 2017, Rory Burke made his Munster senior debut against Benetton.
He earned two caps for the Ireland Under-19 team and went on to play ten games, scoring one try, for the team in the 2014 World Rugby U-20 Championship and the U-20 Six Nations.
Upon arriving at Connacht for the 2019–20 season, Rory quickly became well-liked by both the players and the management in the dressing room.
