SO SAD: Following a terrible injury, Paige Bueckers wrote a heartfelt email to her UConn “twin,” Nika Muhl.

Basketball player for UConn Paige Bueckers wrote a touching note of support to her former Huskies teammate Nika Muhl, who tore her ACL while playing abroad.

The women’s basketball team at UConn is like a sorority. Once a Husky, always a Husky, and the women make memories that last a lifetime while they are in Storrs.

Anytime you see an international WNBA game or competition, that is clearly visible.

It was also clearly seen on Thursday when Nika Muhl, a guard for the Seattle Storm and a former standout player for the University of Connecticut, had a catastrophic injury.

In the EuroLeague SuperCup, Muhl played for the Turkish team Besiktas, who took on WNBA colleague Gabby Williams and fierce opponent Fenerbahce. After suffering a non-contact injury in the third quarter and clutching her knee, Muhl let out a spine-tingling scream.

She was stretchered off of the court and it was later revealed she suffered a torn ACL.

After the news surfaced, Muhl’s UConn sister Paige Bueckers sent out a heartwarming message of support to her “twin.”

Bueckers wrote, “Nothing my twin can’t overcome. Gonna destroy this comeback journey! God speed. “

Muhl was having a great time and made the most of her time on the floor prior to the injury. Making her Besiktas debut, Muhl finished with 11 points, 9 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals.

After an incident the day before, the game on Thursday was played without any fans present in the arena. Fans hurled flares onto the court during Wednesday’s match between the two rivals, setting them off, forcing the players to hastily return to their separate locker rooms and postponing the game.
