JUST IN: An awful announcement was delivered to the team by the former Indiana Fever coach regarding.

On Friday, the Indiana Fever announced the appointment of veteran WNBA executive Amber Cox as the team’s new general manager and chief operating officer, marking a significant front-office change. Cox, who was formerly the general manager of the Phoenix Mercury, Connecticut Sun, and Dallas Wings, takes over for Lin Dunn.

Dunn is moving into a Senior Advisor role with the Fever franchise. “I am excited to be joining the Fever during this historic time in the WNBA, and I am grateful to Kelly, Fever ownership, and Mel Raines for this opportunity,” Cox said in a statement on Friday. “From the top down, there is a commitment to invest in the Fever to ensure the team’s continued growth and success, and I look forward to contributing to a world-class experience for our fans, as well as our players, both on and off the court.”

With Cox now at the helm, some fans are questioning the future of current Fever head coach Christie Sides.

Throughout the 2024 WNBA season, fans chastised Sides, particularly for how she handled 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year and first overall pick Caitlin Clark. A few individuals have been suggested by fans to take Sides’ place as the Fever’s head coach, including Lisa Bluder, a former Iowa Hawkeyes coach.

Lisa Bluder should be your next head coach, please! God bless you and thank you!” wrote an admirer.

“Lisa Bluder, congratulations on being the new coach of the Indiana Fever,” someone else replied. “I really hope Caitlin can set aside any hope she might have that Sides will turn around. Another said, “We need a Lisa Bluder or Cheryl Miller.”
