BEST EVER: Zach Bryan surpasses Texas icon George Strait in attendance at Frost Bank Center, breaking the previous record.

The long-standing record set by George Strait during the venue’s opening event in 2002 was almost surpassed by the rising star of country music.
SAN ANTONIO: Zach Bryan is a well-known country music artist in San Antonio; in fact, he just broke the attendance record for a show at Frost Bank Center.

What’s even more amazing is the record that Bryan shattered.

Bryan played his first of two consecutive shows at the Frost Bank Center on July 30, finishing third in terms of attendance all-time. However, he wasn’t done yet, as the next night 17,353 tickets were sold, helping him surpass the venue’s all-time attendance record. Thanks to the support of San Antonians.

George Strait, a Texas country music icon, set the previous record of 17,233 tickets sold during the venue’s opening show on November 2, 2002, and it remained in effect for nearly 22 years.

Vice president and general manager of Spurs Sports & Entertainment Mindy Corr stated in a news release that “the magic created by Zach Bryan, our incredible fans, and our dedicated team, culminating in a record-breaking night, was a dream come true.” Even while the figures are astounding, what really counts as success are the life-changing moments we’ve given our followers. Without our amazing crew, who toiled endlessly on consecutive shows to give every guest the best possible experience, none of this would have been possible.”
For Frost Bank Center, 2024 has been a significant year. The Spurs’ home arena is scheduled to host 50 concerts by the end of the year, having already staged 25 events, 13 of which were sellouts.

This builds on a 2023 when, according to the venue, over 400,000 people attended 41 shows there. There was also a 13% increase in out-of-town ticket purchases, attracting attendees from Austin, Laredo, and Houston.
