I Will Never Play For Ohio State Again: Sam Williams-Dixon Has Officially Announce His Decommitment From Ohio State

The Ohio State Buckeyes will be without freshman running back Sam Williams-Dixon in their national semifinal. He has entered the transfer portal after one season with the program.

Williams-Dixon informed Ohio State coaches of his decision on Sunday days after the Buckeyes’ 41-21 win over the Oregon Ducks in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal in the Rose Bowl.

Williams-Dixon also told the staff he would not remain with the team through the playoffs. The No. 8 seed Buckeyes are scheduled to play the No. 5 Texas Longhorns in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic on Jan. 10.

The 5-foot-11, 203-pound back committed to Ohio State in April 2023 and enrolled in February 2024. He finished his true freshman season with seven carries for 53 yards.

Williams-Dixon committed to the Buckeyes over 14 other offers. The No. 661 player on the 247Sports’ composite, the Columbus, Ohio, native could have quickly moved up the depth chart with running backs TreVeyon Henderson entering the NFL draft and Quinshon Judkins likely to declare for it this offseason.
