The outcomes might alter all of the New York Giants’ plans, but they are hoping for a seamless transition.
While they wait for Jaxson Dart to adjust and maybe become the team’s future, the New York Giants are looking to two seasoned quarterbacks who are prepared to step up and provide answers.
This is the problem the Giants face, even though prior success with another team does not guarantee meeting expectations, nor does experience guarantee success.
Winston and Wilson will have their opportunity. In the worst situation, Jaxson Dart might be put into action earlier than expected. Both will want to revitalise the Giants’ offence, though some already doubt this will occur.
The plan is for Dart to spend his rookie season in New York as a backup, patiently developing, but this depends on the other two quarterbacks performing well. If Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson falter, the former Ole Miss quarterback will be waiting in the wings, but under more pressure if the team falters early in the 2025 season.
One critic, NFL.com’s Kevin Patra, has surfaced with a doubtful assessment of the quarterbacks now playing for the Giants. Patra predicts that Wilson and Winston’s 2025 performances won’t be better than their current NFL performances, arguing that neither player has done enough to merit a starting position under head coach Brian Daboll. “Brian Daboll might have already named Wilson the starter, but I’m going to keep writing that one in pencil,” Patra stated. “At this point, Wilson hasn’t done anything in the last three years that suggests he deserves a starting position.
Conversely, Winston will have some huge games, similar to those in Cleveland. However, turnovers will continue. Part of the experience is chaos. Although he is less predictable than Wilson, he is also lot more entertaining. Fans may hope that Wilson’s performance level or at least the figures he posted with the Pittsburgh Steelers be matched, but anything is possible. Many people forget the Giants’ disastrous quarterback play from the previous season, particularly in the wake of Daniel Jones’ exit. Not a single backup gained more than 1,100 yards.
