Unexpected driver signing for the 2025 NASCAR Cup season is announced by Kaulig Racing.

Ty Dillon will take Daniel Hemric’s seat in the No. 10 Chevrolet for Kaulig Racing in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series. Hemric’s future is uncertain as a result of Dillon’s unexpected choice to rejoin the Cup Series after serving in the Truck Series. This choice was made in response to Ty Norris, a former NASCAR driver, being appointed Chief Business Officer by the team. A.J. Allmendinger will be joined on the track by Dillon, who has 244 Cup Series starts, two top-five finishes, and seven top-ten finishes. Prior to this, Dillon competed professionally with Petty GMS Motorsports (now Legacy Motor Club), Spire Motorsports, and Germain Racing, which left the competition in 2020.

It is important to highlight that Stewart-Haas Racing has utilized the No. 10 car since 2012, but the team will retire this number at the end of the season. Consequently, Kaulig Racing will retire the rights to the No. 31, allowing Ty Dillon to take the wheel of the No. 10 Chevrolet instead. Hemric, who joined Kaulig Racing this season, has experienced a season of ups and downs. Speaking about his upcoming exit from the team, he said in a statement

“Cup racing is our sport’s ultimate competition. I will always cherish and value the mental and physical preparation that goes into getting ready to compete on Sundays. I will not, however, go back to Kaulig Racing in 2025 to carry out that procedure.

“My family and I are sincerely grateful to Matt Kaulig and Chris Rice, as well as everyone at Kaulig Racing and Kaulig Companies, for welcoming me into their organization a few years ago, and giving me the rare opportunity to get back to the top level of our sport.

The desire to win on Sundays will always burn inside of me. I’m focused and full of intention to finish the last 7 races of this season as strong as we can, while continuing to build on whatever the next chapter of this journey holds for me.”

Commenting on Norris’s recent move from Trackhouse Racing, Kaulig Racing issued the following statement: “Today Kaulig Racing announces the addition of NASCAR industry veteran Ty Norris to the team. Norris will serve as the team’s Chief Business Officer, focusing on partnerships and long-term strategy alongside owner Matt Kaulig and team President Chris Rice.

Bringing Norris and his wealth of knowledge to the executive team is one of several major moves Kaulig and Rice are making to solidify the trajectory of its NASCAR Cup Series program well into the future.”
